Hello Fellow Alumni and friends! I have been looking froward to being present at this years reunion (our 15th!!!), however, it now appears that I will be unable to make it. It has been terrific hearing from many of you this year! Isn't technology great! It's been fun to "catch up" on one another's lives! For those of you I have not communicated with, here is a quick (or not so quick) update! I have lived in Florida since 1984, and have loved every minute of it! I do miss the friendly people in Oklahoma though! I'm convinced there are no nicer people on the planet Earth than those in Oklahoma! Florida is very much a "melting pot" of sorts which make life interesting also. I met my husband J.B. (short for Jerry Brian) in 1989...(we married on New Years Eve 1991) He is originally from Illinois and has resided in Florida since 1984 also. We have two gorgeous (and I do mean GORGEOUS) children. Our son Zachary Alexander is five (5) years old and our son Matthew Addison just turned one (1) on the 29th of March. They keep us incredibly busy (and tired!) and are most definitely the most extraordinary blessings we have ever received! We treasure every moment with them. I work with my mom (Peggy Walker, Class of 49') selling Real Estate. (Anybody wanna' buy some Florida swampland?) We stay busy and most importantly have loads of fun! J.B. and I are very active in our church, (Oceanview United Methodist) J.B. is Trustee and Video Coordinator, and I teach Vacation Bible School and am involved in whatever the "Kids" are doing. I realized that my e-mail address is somewhat out of date. We've changed twice in the past year and a half. I wondered why I haven't heard from any of the old MHS bunch. Hi Everyone!! Wow what a great Web Page. I actually found several old friends I haven't talked to in FOREVER. Thanks MANGUM. I'm a stay at home Mom and I operate a Home Daycare. Jeff is in the TSGT in the Air Force. Jeff and I live in Wichita Falls Tx. We have been here for a little over 2 years. Prior to moving here we lived in Ogden Utah. What a fantasic place to live. We fell in love with the mountains and the wonderful people. We have 3 great children, Andrew who is 13 and we have beautiful twin daughters, Ryshelle and Andreanna who will be 9 next month. God has truely blessed us with great children. We aren't sure if we will be coming home for the alumni. Jeffs job keeps him on the road alot. So we will have to wait and see. We now live in Florida - since 1982 (my wife, Zola). We have been married for 16 years. We are both retired and have a motorhome, which we take real good advantage of -- all the time! We have a permanent home in Florida where we stay during the winter, then we travel in our motorhome during the summer. We will be leaving our home here in Florida the middle of April and are heading west this summer. We will visit family in Oklahoma, Texas, California, Missouri and Indiana. We will return home to Florida the last of August. I spend a lot of time on the computer, so would like to hear from you.

Greetings fellow MHS graduates. Here's hoping the last year of this century marks a banner year for the MHS Alumni Association. It's been an interesting 1998 for me and my family. In late 1997, I relocated my residence back to Mangum. Ironically, I rented the house that used to belong to Ms. Sanger, the former librarian at MHS. (What's real funny is that I never really saw the inside of a library until I went to law school.) Reaching mid-life, and since the bulk of my law practice can be accomplished regardless of where I live, I decided I wanted to move back home & hang out a shingle. My family (Pam McPhail of OKC, wife of 23 years, and two girls, Whitney age 17 and Kelsey age 15) said for me to give it a try. After I got settled, several people encouraged me to run for Associate District Judge, which I did. In retrospect, I'm not sure whether either of these decisions were correct. I didn't win the election, although I received about 42% of the vote. And I don't think the time was right for me to move home, so I moved back to OKC. Maybe I'll try it again in a few years. My law practice has become increasingly busy recently. I've just been retained by the state of Florida to consult on a case where the Department of Justice is attempting to close Florida's mental institutions. I've also recently been put on retainer by Marriott. I never seem to get anyone out of jail anymore. I did get to serve as last year's MHS Alumni president. That was fun. What was also special about last year is that "The Changing Times" was able to reunite and play at Edison. I can tell you that all of us in the band really enjoy these yearly gigs. A sad note is that one of the Band's members and fellow MHS 68 graduate, Steve Edwards, was recently killed in an automobile accident. The band is leaning towards playing again this year, with proceeds of the dance going to Steve's kids' college fund. Anyway, I'll be returning for the 1999 MHS reunion. I hope to see everyone there. Hello,my name is Danny Wright and I graduated in 1968 and would like to say HI to everyone. I teach and coach at Dale Ok. which is near Shawnee.My wife Karen, who is from Catoosa Ok. also teaches and coaches at Dale. We have been here 14 years. We have 2 boys Anthony who is 24 yrs and Chris 22yrs. Anthony is in the Navy and is stationed in San Diego aboard the carrier USS Constellation. Chris is playing professional baseball for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays minor leagues . Hi is in spring training in Florida. Hope he makes it to the big leagues!!! I would be pleased to have this correspondence related to my MHS friends on the alumni website and, I do hope for their e-mail or postal to the address below. I wish so much to see them and, I hope to do so at this coming 1999 and following reunions. It was a godsend to find the Alumni website and have corresponded with a few of the Alumni via email. I have been away for a long time and have returned for only a very few visits. I have now retired from a 40 year career as a Boeing Engineer and do not now have the tunnel vision that life in that environment so demanded. I think of Mangum every day and of my schoolmates and of things that happened long ago, and in a place far away. "Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end".....See you there.
