Just an update. I live in Georgetown Texas with my husband of almost 20 years, Michael Morton. We have no children, but we do have 4 dogs and 2 cats: Gus, Rowdy, Sister Dixie, Hill Country Honky Tonkin' Rita Ballou, Greenie, and Ace. I work for the Texas Association of School Boards as Manager of Business Analysis and Support. That's in the computer department which means I am a Geek sometimes. In every spare second of my free time, I buy and sell antiques and collectibles. My home page for antiques is called The Noisy Boy and Disorderly Girl and is at: http://www.noisyboy.com Come browse! Lots of neat stuff. I also actively buy, e-mail me if you have something wonderful. My beloved husband (and all around wonderful guy), Michael is Director of US Regulatory Affairs for Carbomedics. They make heart valves and heart valve components. Great to see MHS on the 'Net. E-mail me at disorderlygirl@noisyboy.com or antexp@texas.net. I'd love to hear from you.

It's been a year since I found what has become a fantastic web page. Congratulations on a great product. I'm sure it will help a lot of us keep in touch in the days ahead. I continue to live in Sweetwater, Texas where I have served as Pastor of the Avondale Baptist Church for the past 9 years. My sweetheart, Joye, whom I met and married while a student at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Tx, celebrated our 31st Wedding Anniversary in January of this year. We have three children, two living nearby and one who is returning to the area from California at the end of this month. They have blessed us with five fantastic grandchildren, four girls and one lonely boy. I am presently completing a Masters of Theology degree and will begin work on a doctorate in Theology sometime before the end of the year. Over the past four years I have been privileged to lead several conferences for the Baptist Sunday School Board and the Wyoming Baptist State Convention. Joye and I serve as State Urban Coordinators for the Bivocational/Small Church Department of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Our work takes us all over the state of Texas. We work with and train 20 Regional Consultants in addition to our work on our church field. During this time I have also had 5 articles published in the "Church Administration" magazine and 1 article published in the "Deacon" magazine, both published by the Baptist Sunday School Board. Last fall I also wrote a chapter for a book published by the Alabama Baptist State Convention entiled "Examples of Excellence." I guess some of what we learned at MHS has paid off. It seems I'm just a late bloomer. Whatever, I'm grateful for the many friends and the great experiences at MHS. At this time I'm not sure if I'll be able to be at the 1998 reunion. If possible I will be there. It's always a great experience.

Dear friends and fellow alums, Due to popular demand,(more than one person asked) Calvin Burgess '53 and Edward Day '52 will be attending the festivities this year. We look forward to seeing old friends and telling all the stories we can remember. Our visit is nowhere near the threat to society it would have been in-say-1958. Hope lots of you will be there.

Glenn Hightower '58
Thanks for making this page available. What good memories the pictures and letters evoke. Though I normally have visited Mangum annually, I haven't been able to make that coincide with the Alumni celebrations. This year is the 40th anniversary for our class and I am looking forward to being there and renewing friendships. Mangum has a special place in my heart and you, along with all those who faithfully maintain our addresses, have my thanks. I'm Glenn Hightower, '58, and live in Westport, CT, about an hour up the coast from New York City. I've enjoyed being a middle school principal here for the past 29 years. My wife, Beverly, and I have three daughters. Holly lives in Spain, Julie attends the University of Virginia, and Heather is a junior in highschool.

Well, here we are again. I did one of these a couple of years ago & things have changed a bit since then, so I thought I would send in an update. I am still with the same person I have been with for 12 years, so nothing has changed there. I still have twins, so nothing has changed there, except their ages of course, they are now 10 1/2... approximately 2 years older than they were 2 years ago when I did the last one .. funny how that works. Although I said I would be graduating last year, things have changed so fast in the computer networking field I am still in school, nothing has changed there. But! I will be graduating in May with a degree in Telecommunications w\ a specialty in computer networking. I just recently started a new job as a network technician in the computer services department at the school I have been attending. Its a wonderful oppurtunity that I am grateful for. I only wish some of those old MHS teachers could see me now! :) especially Mrs. Penn. I am gonna try hard to come to the 20th reunion of the class of ‘80 in a few years. Since I still live in Charleston, S.C, ... nothing has changed there ... it makes it rather difficult. Hopefully if I start planning now the pieces will fall together by reunion time. I guess I should wrap this up, so If any of the old classmates wanna get in touch or just anyone who wants to reminisce about the old Mangum days, feel free to E-mail me @ ... rleckie@cchat.com ... (which is slightly different than the one from last time). Also, I have my own webpage @ http://www.cchat.com/samiam .. check it out & let me know what you think, theres a pic of the family on there plus other stuff.

I am surprised no one from the class of '68 is corresponding on the alumni web site. What a great idea! Glad to hear the members of the "Changing Times" will be there, but will anyone else be there for our 30th? Would love to hear from anyone at my Email address at work.

What wonderful idea to have a web page. We are really enjoying reading the e-mails that have come in. It's interesting to see where people are living and what they are doing with their lives. Jim and I are living in Redmond, Wa. which is basically a suburb of Seattle. We have been here since ' 84 except for a 3 year stint in Phoenix. We absolutely love living here. It is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Of course this time of year gets alittle rough because of the rain and drizzle, but most of the time it doesn't bother me. Jim is still working for Hexcel Corp. He has been with this company for 20 years and is still enjoying his work. He has traveled all over Europe several times and sometimes I tag along. He is still traveling an often lot. I have been a stay at home mom for 25 years. I just got a part-time job teaching water motion classes for seniors . I'm having a ball. Jim and I have two daughters Angela 25 and Rachel 17. Our oldest was married this last year and the youngest is a senior in high school. We would like to hear from any of our class mates. Here are our e-mail addresses:
jlcupp@aol.com and ycupp@aol.com.

What a thrill to see the Mangum High Alumni Homepage!! Taking Teach Deaver's typing class has finally come in handy!! Who would have thought that we would have become so technically advanced!!! This computer keyboard beats those old manual typewriters all to heck!!! Glenn & I have lived in Stillwater, OK for the past 5 years. I still work for USDA, Farm Service Agency in the State Office. Glenn has retired after teaching school for 29 years. He is still involved in substituting because he enjoys being around kids. Our son, Brent, is the training specialist for the city of Austin, TX for their 911 dispatchers and call-takers. Not all 911 calls are tragic situations---some are funny as they can be!! Our daughter, Erin, married a fellow from Grandfield, OK who is in the Air Force. They live in Sumpter, South Carolina and have a beautiful 19 month old son, Tristan. All we have left at home is Gorby the cat and Harley the dog. Sometimes we suffer from "Empty Nest Syndrome". I have MANY fond memories of good ol' Mangum High. Hope to see everyone at this years banquet! I have a 1952 Mangum Tiger yearbook that I would like to donate to the Silent Auction if you are using that type of stuff. Let me know where to send & etc. Love, LaNelda Bailey McDaniel '65
